I see the sunlight
Warped and shrinking, growing cold
Salt is all I taste.
The mast crashes down
Muffled sounds echo dully
The light grows darker.
I see shades of men
Shapes of my vessel, falling
But I feel nothing
The cold is comfort
As I fall into darkness
No pain, as light fades.
Beneath the waves I
Sink to meet my maker and
Sleep where I have lived.
I see sunlight
Growing dimmer through the sea
As I drift
To rest.
